Dasha Periods

Antardasha Periods

Understand the sub-periods within Mahadashas that provide precise timing for specific events.

Overview

Antardashas are sub-periods within each Mahadasha, ruled by all nine planets in the same sequence as Mahadashas. They provide more precise timing for events than Mahadashas alone.

The duration of each Antardasha depends on the Mahadasha lord and follows proportional calculations. For example, in Jupiter's 16-year Mahadasha, Jupiter's own Antardasha lasts about 2.5 years.

Antardasha analysis combines the influences of both the Mahadasha lord and Antardasha lord, creating complex interactions that determine the specific nature and timing of events.

Antardasha Calculation and Effects

Sub-period Precision

Each planet's Antardasha duration within a Mahadasha is proportional to its natural Mahadasha length. The Antardasha lord modifies the Mahadasha lord's influence, creating specific themes.

When the same planet rules both Mahadasha and Antardasha, its effects are amplified. When different planets rule, their combined significations manifest, sometimes creating conflicts or harmonious blends.

The relationship between Mahadasha and Antardasha lords (friends, enemies, or neutral) significantly affects the period's results and the ease or difficulty of experiences.

Key Points

  • Duration proportional to natural Mahadasha lengths
  • Antardasha lord modifies Mahadasha themes
  • Same planet in both creates amplified effects
  • Different planets create combined influences
  • Planetary relationships affect period harmony
